As you all know, I very rarely write on this blog, for lots of
reasons (email me and I'll tell you), but this post warrants one, well, because . Peonies were my
grandmother's favorite. My grandmother who died of breast cancer three
months before I was born. I have always, always loved peonies. If I
could redo my wedding, it would include them. And, my grandfather was an
apple farmer and artist, too. I should've asked him more questions
when he was alive.
I love to grow things. And, this is
the first year in ten years
of my gardening career (various gardens) that I have had enough peonies
to cut for a bouquet. And the first year I have had enough strawberries
to bake something--strawberry rhubarb crumble (yum.).... Alas, the
apple tree will probably only have a few apples this year.
Sometimes
art needs to be explained in order for the depth of a
work to be understood. Okay, mom and aunties, you may all start crying
now. And if you desire a print, let me know, and I'll get some made. Love to all.
